The World will end September 21,2012!!!

Ok many have missed my point. I`m not saying the world is ending I`m saying its possible that the producers are or will use this as part of their story telling. And this theory is not just based on the Mayan calender but many other profices with very similar threads including the end of the world.

Vinny, point well taken! I believe the 'Valenzetti Equation' does address this very issue, in a vague sense. Unfortunately, too little is known about the dynamics of the Equation, and what effect it is specifically addressing. Taken in that sense, it could involve many things.

With you on the doomsday theory hatred (as so many others have appropriately stated). They do tend to be silly. Though I would personally love to be in a cult group at the moment where their supposed world doesn't end.

Anyway, my other point is that you bracketed "global warming" alongside the end of the world. The whole subject of modern day 'global warming' politics is one that can get me into rant mode at the drop of a hat ("They're lying to me!" is my usual foam-mouthed response at my television) but I'll spare you the rhetoric.

Anyway.

Amidst all of this Mayan calendar global warming end of the world malarkey, there was a Lost theory posted! And talk of the end of the world is incredibly relevant. Our beloved 4 8 15 16 23 42 numbers have been dubbed The Valenzetti Equation that predicts the end of humanity after all! Will that equation relate to the Mayan calendars prediction? Probably not. But that doesn't take a doomsday prediction off the table for Lost.

AC, I personally would LOVE to hear your thoughts on global warming politics.....there is a science and physics section it might fit into quite nicely.....or philosophy and society depending on your stance

Nice I'm going to read that in a sec, AC. One thing that always gets me about these doomsday theories is that they're always within ten years or so.

Thats to scare people. If something was proven to wipe out the human race in a couple of hundred years or so, then I would be much more inclined to believe it than one that says the world will end tommorow.

The only reason that the doomsdays are so close to scare people.

I remember my senior year in high school, Nostradames had supposily predicted the end of days. They did not come but my girlfriend and I had a grand night one I will always remember.

Yes, and I recall May 5, 2000 was supposed to be the end of the world as well. It wasn't, as I recall anyway.

And who can forget the Y2K scare.....oh noes all the computers in the world cant cope with the date and will all go wrong!!!!!

Is that what that was? Y2K. The computer can't cope with ALL the numbers changing in the date? Seems silly.

I'm no doomsdayer-sayer, but I still like to hear all the theories, just for the sake of knowing them.

I like that! we all have our own personal doomsday eventually. Anyway whether the Mayan thing is correct or hogwash I enjoyed reading the post.

I rewatched a little of the Mayan video and still what scares me is that scientits confirm that the earth will make some sort of axis shift on that exact day something that occurs every twenty five thousand years or so. I also remember hearing that the earth has an ice age every twenty thounsand years or so.
Axis shift, Earth alligned with the Sun and the center of the Milky Way I`m think *&%#^ run!
Then at the end of the video they talk about the Mayans interpertaion how there sociaty was and obviously how different ours is today. I might be a little crazy but i think something will happen, increased bad weather planet wide and such. In the end however I think it may turn out to be an age of aquarius. The Mayans were astronomers and scientitis of time but they were heathens to be nice and the end of days that they predict could be an end of evil and needless killing. Its always darkest before dawn.

There are a huge number of people across the world waiting for 2012. I dont know if you have ever heard of Indigo children (note: this is not necassarily what I believe, I just find it interesting) but since the 70's children have been born "different" to the rest of us. Indigo children supposedly operate at a higher frequency so they will have special talents such as heightened empathy, prophetic dreams, they may even be savants. They also have a natural dislike of authority and believe themselves to be better than "normal" folk. There is some controversy around the idea as one of the major signs of an indigo child is autism or ADHD. Though not every autistic child or child with ADHD is Indigo. There are parents who read this theory who have a child with behavoural and/or learning difficulties and label them as Indigo which IMHO can be dangerous. But anyway.....

The suggestion is that this is our next stage of evolution. We have no need to evolve physically as we have mastered our environment, but we do need to evolve mentally so as to stop killing eachother. This is connected to 2012 as many people believe that something global will happen that will force us to view ourselves differently, and these Indigo children will be the ones responsible for teaching us a completely new way of life.

As I say, I dont necassarily believe this, I just find it fascinating and kind of hope it is true lol
