Re: Character Bio's
The plane was big enough but the seats small as ever, great a middle seat.
I might not have been clear but my intent was that I was stuck in the middle seat.
Maybe its all just a time correction thing and in your flashback you sat in the middle and in mine I sat in the middle seat.

Damn! If we were writers for the show the continuity people (Angelo Comet) would be all over us.

That's the spirit, guys... You've nailed "the pilot flashback" inconsistencies already...

When I die, I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather... Not screaming like the passengers in his bus.

Hi, Im Merrick. Im 30 years old, quiet and more of an observer than a participater.(thats why Im a redshirt).
Im an Australian who was travelling to LA for a scrap booking convention.
On the surface I appear quiet though friendly but in truth I'm a compulsive shoplifter and I once let my best friend to take the rap for a leather jacket I was stealing.. set an alarm off as we were leaving the shop so I handed the coat to her and skidooed/.
Sometimes I wonder if I crashed on this island as some sort of punishment for all my shady ways, but then I look at the so called leaders of this party and I realize its all about them so I don't sweat it too much.

Tallulah-Raye
Life had been good for Tallulah-Raye she had just completed her hairdressing and make-up course from the NATIONAL BEAUTY COLLEGE in Garland, Texas. She read the glowing reference that she had been given by the head of the School, Professor Sabrina Rutherford , a tough but fair teacher.
The Cosmetology program has given Tallulah-Raye the skills and knowledge she needs to perform a wide range of beauty-related services, including shampooing, manicuring, make-up application, hair styling, hair waving, hair straightening, skin and scalp treatments, bleaching, and tinting.
Tallulah-Raye gained an understanding of hair chemistry and biology, as well as a solid foundation in interpersonal communication skills, professional development, and group dynamics.
Tallulah-Raye also has shown great skills in her excellent critical thinking, writing, and verbal communication skills that relate specifically to the field of cosmetology.
It was this reference and some other behind the scenes intervention by Professor Rutherford that saw Tallulah-Raye win an all expenses paid two week trip to attend the International Cosmetology Conference and workshops in Sydney Australia.
Tallulah-Raye was especially interested in attending the workshops on Make Up and Design for television Productions. And she was so happy that the sessions were being run by the make up artist for her favourite soapie Exposé. It was almost as good as meeting the cast.
At the end of the two weeks, Tallulah-Raye walked away with enough free make up and hair products to keep an enire cast of television actors in makeup for many months. She loved her time down under but now she was looking forward to getting back home to Dallas, back to her boyfriend Nash, who was still recouperating in hospital after a very bad rodeo accident that has left him in a wheelchair and her little puppy, Stinkums, a cute little dog that just wandered into her apartment and just stayed.
Imagine Tallulah-Raye's joy at the airport to realise that flying on the same Oceanic Flight 815 was a big name celebrity, the girl that plays Corvette in Expose, Nikki!
Boarding the plane Tallulah-Raye had to keep pinching herself, yes she sighed to herself I must be the luckiest girl in the entire world.

Re: Character Bio's
Miranda Eowyn
Miranda was born into society, the sole child and benefactor of the Wentworth wealth, wealth amassed over the generations, the family had old money, but where that old money came from is far from clear. Some say the early family acquired their wealth in the medieval era and that the selling of Castles in the 1800's gave them the wealth that they brought with them to Australia.
Miranda at the age of 36 is the one woman everyone wants to be friends with, her lavish mansion at Potts Point hosts the most lavish A list parties in the antipodes. Yet even among her friends she is often called the ice princess, with stunning good looks she remains aloof and distant to even her closest of friends.
Her ability to chat and talk makes her the ideal host, and people feel that they are connecting with her, but then after the encounters they are at a loss to explain that feeling, as they realise that they come away knowing even less about Miranda than when they started.
Miranda though would be invited to parties all over the world and it was because of a party that she booked a surprise ticket to LA. Not that she wanted to dine and socialise with Arnold Schwarzenegger and his guests but she felt that a break might do her good and she could do some shopping on Rodeo Drive, which would also get rid of her Christmas shopping. If it was done in September, then she could focus her attention on the gala New Year's Eve party she was throwing, to welcome in 2005.
She only planned on being gone a week and so she packed a light suitcase, knowing that she could bring some gifts back with her and allow the shops in Rodeo Drive to take care of the items and have them arrange the delivery of them to her Sydney mansion.
She was never short of handsome male companions, but never seemed to stay with anyone and marriage seemed of no interest to her. Though what her true feelings on that matter were is just another one of those topics that she keeps to herself.
She almost missed the flight as her limousine driver was exactly 23 minutes late for the 16 km journey to Sydney Airport. But she made it with minutes to spare, but then the plane was further delayed because of an even later passenger arrival. A very large guy, who she felt looked like he was going to have a heart attack. One of the joys of travelling first class meant that she could have her personal space.
Settling in her seat in Row 4, she decided to read the novel she grabbed from a shelf as she left, Watership Down. Miranda thought that will fill in some time. Cindy the waitress came and gave Miranda a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. The next thing she remembered was being on a beach in a scene right out a hollywood disaster movie, and there cradling a very pregnant girl was that overweight passenger. What has happened to us, she screamed.

Re: Character Bio's
A rush of humid tropical air rushes into his lungs as Otto gasps for breath. His head hurts; he's dazed. The sun feels so hot. There's a hum of activity around him, but he can't quite grasp what's happening at first. He starts to take in his surroundings: a hot, sandy beach, a tropical tree line with highlands in the distance, dozens of people running around seemingly aimlessly, and - most confusing of all - huge scraps of smoldering metal. As he shakes his head and begins to process everything, he recognizes it as the wreckage of a plane. I was on a plane. The plane isn't all there, though. He can't see the nose section, and the entire back half seems to be missing. I could see the sky after the loud noise... Slowly bits and pieces start falling into place. What seem like hours worth of details flood his head in a matter of seconds. He rolls himself onto his side to get better leverage, and slowly rises to his feet. Nothing seems to be broken. His head is still pounding, but he's not in any serious pain. He starts to make his way toward the nearest group of people.
Born in Portland, Oregon, but raised on the East Coast (in various locations), Otto Hanren - son of Ann and Stan Hanren - always loved the guitar. He saved up his allowance money for months and months when he was young, and he bought himself his very first guitar. He taught himself how to play by listening to some of his dad's old vinyl records by Geronimo Jackson, Three Dog Night, and even a Patsy Cline album. He'd play little concerts for his brother and sister, Dan and Suzanne.
He and a friend eventually got a little act together and played a lot of local bars and coffee shops. They began to get noticed by talent scouts in the area. A fellow by the name of Thomas Browne told them he really liked their sound and felt they'd be great for a tour of the British Isles he was putting together. Unfortunately, while in England, they ran into some creative differences, and while walking out, Otto was held up for the little bit of money he had left by some crazed musician on a heroin spree. Otto thought he recognized him as the lead singer of one of the bands he'd seen the night before.
Fortunately, as his assaulter ran off he was seen by a woman passing by on the street. She yelled at him, but he disappeared down some side alley before she can could catch up to him. She went back to check on Otto, who was shaken but unharmed. She told him her name was Penelope and that he was lucky he only had his wallet taken.
The middle section of the plane is tilted at a precarious angle. One wing sits far too high in the air to remain in one piece for long. All around injured, scared, disoriented people run frantically in circles, only a few seeming to have their wits about them. He watches as a man (whom he will later learn is named Vlad) leaps into the waves to rescue a fellow survivor (whom he will later learn is named Roger). He rushes over to the shoreline to help Vlad carry him to dry land. They determine quickly that Roger is breathing normally and isn't really in any more danger than anyone else.
The sounds of explosions, screams, crying, and calls for help fill the air, but Otto swears he hears something out there in the jungle over the din of it all. A swarm of whispers reverberates around his head for but a moment. He can't make out what they're saying, but they're definitely voices...

Thanks Kate,
you probably wouldn't fly Oceanic Air though, I think that you would use your own private jet, but that's the big difference between you and Miranda.

Blonde I think by the time TR gets home her little dog may be very well named. But at least we know now why the Losties look so good, TR had all that free makeup and the skills to use them. I wonder if she had a beauty salon somewhere up the beach, just out of the camera's range.
