Vlad Taltos a character Bio.

Screaming? Engine roaring? Cries for help… What’s going on? Where am I?
My eyes they burn, the sun. A plane? I was on a plane, but how did I get here?
eyes dilate…
I was born into a nice loving family. Just me my mom and my dad. Problem was
my parents were too loving too helpful. They heard about a new project being formed
shortly after my 4th birthday. My Grandma said it was like the peace core but my
grandfather called it a cult. The last thing I remember about my parents was the short
goodbye. My mom said” But Horace are you sure we can’t just take him?” and my dad
said” honey I tried they told me we could send for him in a few months.” With tears in
there eyes they kissed me goodbye.
My grandparents were great. Every morning until they passed, my grandma would take me
to the lake for are swimming lessons while I spent the afternoons with my grandpa learning
to box. The only thing I have to remember them are the brass knuckles my grandpa gave me.
When I was ten I was placed in The Santa Rosa Orphanage where I learned to be quiet and
not ask any questions. The only thing I got from that place was a life long addiction to pain
medication. I was never in any pain but I was told it was for my own good and not to ask why,
so I didn’t. When you asked questions you went for a walk, down a hall up the stairs and into
a room only marked by its number. I knew that if I didn’t behave then I would be sent into
room 23 and those kids that did go came back totally different or not at all.
It was a strange place. We did various exercises and played games with machines attached
to are heads or arms. Not at all like a video game. Stranger still for an orphanage no parents
ever came. Until one day a very tall thin black man visited and asked us all a few questions,
then he left.
Within a week I was on a plane to Australia to live with my new family. The Widmore`s
were a quite family never leaving me wanting but never letting me in. I never truly felt
part of there family. With my parents always on my mind only numbing the memories with
the most expensive pain killers money could by, I decided I would use any recourses I had
to try and find out what really happened to my parents.
I hired private investigators, spent a fortune on fortune tellers, tried the police, even talked
with priests and local holy men. I came up empty time and time again. Until one day I saw
the same tall thin black man who came to the orphanage, he told me he knew of my search
and he could help. He told me that my parents were involved with some kind of initiative,
something to do with karma? No it was about helping people and saving the world he said.
The tall thin black man who never gave me his name gave me a plane ticket to Los Angeles,
there I was to meet a man who would tell me everything about my mom and dad. I had to leave
right away. I was not to tell anyone because they would try and stop me. How this man knew any
of this I did not care as long as I got some closure and found out the truth.
The plane was big enough but the seats small as ever, great a middle seat.
“Hi I’m John” said the main in the isle.
“ And I’m Roger” said the man at the window.
I hate to talk with strangers this could be a long flight. So I ask for some water take a couple pills
turn on the air above and close my eyes.
Screaming? Yelling? Cries for help?
I see the man I met Roger yelling, pointing. John the older guy sitting next to me on the plane
floating in the water. Roger looks to be in shock and I… I’m fine not a scratch. I dive into the
Smokie, burning water and swim towards my fellow passenger.

Sorry if it effects your story John, just thought it might add a little
to the mystery if we all can relate. Don`t worry I`ll save you!
Or maybe not you can decide...

Theres an old chinese proverb when translated means that if a man saves anothers life then he is responsible for everything he does the rest of his life ...You decide wether I live or die ...But bear in mind I could return the favour later then we would be quits.....

Roger Gilmour Character Bio

I'm
standing outside the airport staring absent mindedly at the people
coming and going through the door. I kniw that if I go through those
doors I'm free I can live my life the way I want, but do I really want
to leave my past behind. How did it come to this?

I was born into a family in north Austrailia, well if you can call
it a family. It was just my Mum and me. At least she was at home all
the time and we got on really well. We ran a small bed and breakfast so
the house always had someone in it. I loved talking to these strangers
they always had some interesting story to tell or something to show me.
My life was great until I grew older. I think I was 11 the first time
called me 'lard arse' up until then I never really thought that my
weight was a problem. My friends had all shifted away from me, and by
the time I got to secondary school I barley talked to anyone. In those
years of my life I felt so isolated my Mum was the only constant figure
in my life. All those friendly strangers left after a day or two. I
finished my school years as quickly as possible it seems like just a
blur now. No-one really bothered my anymore. I started to work out once
I was 'free' I lost a lot of weight quickly, I had a lot of different
jobs that I either quit or got fired from. I was married by now and I
was 24, by my marriage was empty and I hadn't found any job that I
could settle down in. I started to work out more, I found myself in
peak physical condition at 25. A man who I saw at the gym a lot but had
never spoken to came and spoke to me once. His name was 'Mr Cooper'
that was all he'd give me. He told me that he knew I didn't have a job
and that he had something that I could do for him. He was a con man.
But that didn't stop me. I had no attachments in my life, my Mum was
never around my wife was having an affair and I had no job. I accepted
the work he had for me and we worked together for a while him and me.
The cash was good and we didn't kill nobody we just took the money they
didn't deserve. It was all going well until one day when 'Mr Cooper'
had grown older and weaker he told me that he was retiring from the
buisness, he said that he'd leave all his con tricks for me to use at
my leisure. I still don't know how he did it. But he got my money, he
got all of it. There was only a little note on my bedroom door. 'Why
did you trust a con-man'. I had to track him down. He taught me
everything he knew how could he hide from me. I found him in Sydney, he
hadn't even left the country. I had a simply but deadly gun in my
pocket. He was outside with several people around him. But I didn't
care I was ruthless. I pulled out my gun and took aim. A woman noticed
me and started screaming she ducked behind her table while three men
jumped up in surprise. I still had my aim at Cooper he was in a clear
space. My finger rested on the trigger as I pulled it a stone flew at
my head. My first shot soared over Coopers shoulder and the second hit
the woman straight in the arm. My hand went numb. I dropped the gun. I
ran. I don't know what happened over the next few days but I think
Cooper kept that incident quiet he didn't want people to know about me.
So I was there standing outside Sydney airport watching people come in
and out.

I built up my courage and went in. An hour later I was on a plane
to USA to live the dream. I sat inbetween two men. John and Vlad. I was
shaking even before we went into turbulence and Vlad flashed a grin at
me and asked me if I was nervous. Yes I said forcing a smile. John
turned round 'is this your first time'. 'No I replied I've been nervous
lots of times before'. That was when the back of the plane fell off.
Screaming. Panic. Water. Where was I. I opened my eyes to see the south
pacific sun shining down. But it was blocked out by the weary face of
Vlad and before I knew it I was in his arms being carried toward the
beach. Toward the island.

What?! When did I sit on your lap? There are three seats in a row on most planes. Or if your talking about later after the crash I thought you might like to be an Eko type character who rescued a load of people from the sea. After all you said I was in shock, and I thought you said I was in the water but that was John.
