Fave Flicks

Post by Shamballa on Tue May 27, 2008 12:19 pm

We've done books and music so how about movies? Here is my "short" list...

Blade Runner, The Natural, John Carpenter's The Thing, Papillion, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Matrix, It's a Wonderful Life, The Untouchables, Raising Arizona, Patton, North by Northwest, Blues Brothers, It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, Brazil, The Quiet Man, and Incredibles.

To be continued...

Donnie Darko, Vanilla Sky, Magnolia, Lost in Translation, Waking Life, Amelie, Mulholland Dr., Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Kill Bill, Fight Club, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Requiem For a Dream, Garden State

Many more, but I really like movies with twists. Probably one of the many reasons I love Lost so much!

I like David Lynch, Tim Burton and Woody Allen movies.. Especially Woody Allen, but his recent work kind of sucks. Oh and I love the Chronicles of Riddick ! It's not good as LOTR or POC for a sci-fi film, and will soon be a trilogy as well, I hope, but the landscapes are just fantastic alien

That's why it's "pretty much" anything Kevin Smith. Actually, I never bothered to see Jersey Girl.

Aladdin.... watched it over and over when i was a kid, knew everyone's lines by heart...... never done that with any other movie, so that makes it my all time favorite.

Come on people, it is about the roller skating daughters of zeus that come out of a painting to the soothing tones of ELO. What more can you ask for?

We all share a love of Lost but when it comes to movies, our tastes are so varied. I think that we would have trouble going to the movies together as a group, I doubt we could find one movie that we all could agree on!

Let's see, from Shamballa's list, I agree The Incredibles is a pretty wild and funny pixar movie.

From 1337Jacqui's list I would have to go for Tim Burton's Nightmare before Christmas, Jack Skellington is so cool.

CF, your list is huge but I can only go for Lord of the Rings from your list. Though to be honest I have not seen hardly any of those movies you listed.

LJ, Jersey Girl??? Actually that is my second favourite movie of all time! I know that begs the question of what is my first favourite movie of all time. Now that is easy to answer, every other movie apart from Jersey Girl.

Stitch a wonderful choice of movies ... sorry, oops, that was my list.

SP, you have a really broad range of fav movies, but out of your selection I could only go for Captain Jack Sparrow.

Eda, I too love Tim Burton, so that is the many I take from your list. The corpse bride was so cool and spooky.

Vincent wow great taste, I am torn between Spidey2 and all the HP movies, and Goonies and Star Wars and young Guns. Top selection!

Puchita, Do you trust me? I love Aladdin and think that a whole new world is the most amazibg sequence ever, and always remember bee yourself. lol

WTF, Shrek does it for me and also can cope with The Princess Bride.

Still a pretty diverse taste in movies! But that is good diversity is neat, but if we were to have a movie night, then we would have to go to a huge multiplex to keep everyone happy.

Banana's have to agree with you on your sole movie. Not because I like it or have even seen it, I haven't but it stars Olivia and as she is a fellow aussie, it gets my thumbs up. Though I think the Americans are getting a bit tired of all the Aussies in Hollywood!
