Re: Favourite book??
Thanks Lojozz. I'm not a huge fan of Hemmingway, but there was something about it I liked.
Papillion is definitely on my favorite movies list. I'll have to check out the book.
Right now I'm reading "Welcome to the Monkey House" a collection of short stories by Vonnegut and starting the "Bard" trilogy by Keith Taylor.
I also need to add Douglas Adams's "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" to my list.
Gotta love the edit function!

In no particular order (and I make no apologies for the merit levels of some of these books - reading is entertainment and some of the best books I have ever read weren't particularly literary, but they were damned entertaining):
Lord Of The Flies - William Golding
1984 - George Orwell
Survivor - Chuck Palahniuk
Sphere - Michael Crichton
Marabou Stork Nightmares - Irvine Welsh
American Psycho - Bret Easton Ellis
A History Of The World In 10 And A Half Chapters - Julian Barnes

Re: Favourite book??
ah man, I hate to get all scientific, but the book which changed my life was The Selfish Gene, by Richard Dawkins. Changed my life so much, that I gave up my career to go to University and I hope to graduate in about 7 weeks, after years of hard study and hard-drinking. So it is fitting that you asked about favourite books for me!
Fave non-scientific book: Roald Dahl's 'Danny the Champion of the World'
