Didn't wanna jinx it...

I was wondering this a while back, and now that we've got less than 24 hours, I figure it's safe to ask the question...

Where are the trolls?

Not that I'm complaining or anything, but it wasn't a secret over at LT that this site was up and running. How'd we avoid the troublemakers? Was it just that Jeff fed them and they kept coming back to the same alley?

Any ideas?

I have wondered about that same thing ,but I think that having moderators,and an active administrator, has been the best safeguard.

I don't know for sure, but even if some have tried to post, they could have been prevented from posting anything deemed, to have been in bad taste ?

I think that they are too afraid to come here. They read our theories and our opinions and see how devoted and knowledgeable we are. And they see how well we all get along (even when fighting about politics and such) and they just scurry along. I like it that way.

Nope we have had no trolls...not even anything that has needed to be removed before you see it....I think JW is right, and that there is just no food for them here!

Personally I believe the reason that we have avoided trolls is that this site is much broader in its approach than many other Lost site. We have set areas for theories but equally we have areas where humour jokes and NAT's can be placed.

This means that people are not going to get into arguments about non theory posts. As the atmosphere is very friendly here, it has no appeal to those who want to start some inflammatory interactions.

Having moderators is great but what keeps the trolls away is the fantastic and positive interactions and respect shown between the members.

And most of us have experienced what a site is like when trolls are given free reign. Not nice or pleasant!

Well one thing is that most people who went on to this site were devoted to lost and searched for a new site. The trolls will be much happier over at losties because they have 10 new members everyday so the enviroment is much less friendly.

Also this site has about 40 regular members who post almost everyday and we all know and get along with each other. Even if a troll came along you'd see it straight away and we'd be able to ban him or her. Or at least give a warning to the troll. I know from personal experience that SunnyP can block computer from going on there all together.
