Stitch

For my Non- Aussie brothers and sisters

Fair dinkum
adjective (pos=fair dinkum, -)

  1. (context, Australian English, slang) genuine, honest, fair and square

Are you ?. - are you telling me the truth ? ; do you really mean that ?
Etymology: An anon wrote: I've been told that this term orginated in the Victorian Goldfields during the goldrush of the 1850'sMany Chinese immigrated to Victoria during the goldrush years.Dinkum derives from a chinese slang phrase meaning "is it real gold" whichwas adopted by the white anglo-saxon prospectors....the plausibility of this is bruised by 'real gold' not having much to do with the meaning of dinkum, which is 'work'-->

God I love this site! I learn more words every day. Fair Dinkum!

"No worries"........dont ask me why, but ever since I was a little girl I have used the term "no worries" in place of "your welcome" or "understood". And always with an Aussie accent. I have been asked many times, when saying it, if I am from Oz lol. Maybe I was a kangaroo in a past life.

For anyone interested in Fringe.

There is a Fringepedia at:

http://fringepedia.net/index.php?title=Main_Page

and also a site for MassiveDynamics leading from there:

http://fringepedia.net/index.php?title=MassiveDynamic.com

I really enjoyed the first Fringe and think my husband did too because he asked if there was a "Lostpedia" for it. Smile No ..........but there is Fringedia!

All the "good stuff" mind control, teleportation, invisibility, astral projection (aka "out of body" experiences), genetic mutation and reanimation.

LOL, you so found that button and the "fringe" that the button means is most definately the fringe that bikers wear, which makes the whole thing even funnier.
