Interesting season synopsis for Season 5 (no full-on spoilers)
From ABC - the synopsis reads
"The band of friends, family, enemies and strangers must continue to work together against the cruel weather and harsh terrain if they want to stay alive. But as they have discovered during their 90-plus days on the island, danger and mystery loom behind every corner, and those they thought could be trusted may turn against them. Even heroes have secrets."
I wouldnt describe the island as having cruel weather and harsh terrain, would you?

Interesting. The "cruel weather" comment, to me, solidifies the idea that the island moved in space, as well as time. In the South Pacific, the weather thus far has been far from "cruel".
Oooh Ooh... where'd it go?

| Maybe the island is somewhere colder. It would make it extremely difficult for anyone on that island to survive without the proper gear for the climate. Maybe they are in the arctic, like what Hurley was drawing while he was at the mental hospital just before Charlie appeared to him. |

So everybody can just cram into Jacob's cabin to stay warm... ?
:-)
Interesting topic. I hadn't seen the ABC synopsis, but it does make sense that the island has moved somewhere very cold, or very hot and dry.
It would also go along with the flash forward in which Locke, as Jeremy Bentham, tells another character that "a lot of bad things have happened" since the O6 left. Of course I'm not sure how they could have prevented the island from moving somewhere inhospitible.
Another thing counting against the idea is that if the island suddenly became harsh with cruel weather, why would anyone want to find the darn thing again? It's not like it would be a tropical paradise any more.
I guess we'll know more if the LOST film crew suddenly shows up in Alaska... lol...

Re: Interesting season synopsis for Season 5 (no full-on spoilers)
Where is one of the places on earth that is defined by cruel weather and harsh terrain ?
The answer is Australia and especially our outback. We saw Isaac of Uluru, Rose's almost faith healer in our red centre.
If the island does turn up in Australia, in our desert, then there is hardly any water, as Australia is the driest continent on the planet, and the weather varies between below freezing at night to 40+ C during the middle of the day. That is approx 110 Fahrenheit.
Maybe Hurley is right and Australia is the key. I could be an extra because if I try hard enough I can come up with a really convincing Aussie accent.

Maybe they moved the island to that desert in Beetlejuice with the crazy worms.

Re: Interesting season synopsis for Season 5 (no full-on spoilers)
but why would the island move to some place inhospitable? It suggests that the movement of the island is random.
If that is the case it could pop up in the arctic as easily as it could in the middle of Youngstown Ohio or Euro Disney (no great loss on those two)

LMAO stitch! Do i detect sarcasm?Because the last thing an Australian character in Lost needs is a convincing Aussie accent.Apart from Capt Gualt

Would the producers be stupid enough to place Josh Holloway on the same continent as me?
I think my husband might get suspicious if I have to take a daily detour to the outback on the way to the shops

Remember the landscape outside the Listening Station during the Season 2 finale? That looked awfully like the lanscape of the island in the South Pacific. Maybe it moved there...
