Advertsing Losties! on other websites

Hi all

It seems some people are still linking to this site on LT, so I would like to clarify what is and isnt acceptable forms of advertising this site.

The more links we have on other sites the more google will like us, and of course promoting this site is always welcome - however there are certain methods that go against good "netiqutte".

These are the forms of promotion that do not risk causing problems;

• Adding a link to your signature on other websites if the administrators allow it.
  
• Link exchange - adding to a links section on another website and linking back to it from here in exchange
  
• Social Networking - adding a link to your myspace/facebook etc profile
  
• Other links can be added to your MSN, email signature etc.
  

When a link to a website is posted elsewhere such as LT without the administrators permission and an approved link, it is considered spamming, and not something I would encourage. It can cause bad feeling between the sites and provoke counter spamming attacks - something we really wish to avoid. Spamming is something I wont allow here, so I ask everyone to extend the same courtesy and not post links to this site unless it falls under the above catagories.

Vincent, one possible way is to drop a linked image in your "About Me" section. Like this...
