Where the DHARMA logo really comes from....

Post by MollyCocktail on Wed Aug 06, 2008 6:19 pm

Just below is a picture of the Looking Glass DHARMA logo and next to it is something called the Large Hadron Collider which Darlton has been watching with great interest.
The Large Hadron Collider is a real project in development, although there is much debate over its ethics.
The collider itsef is supposed to be able to produce mini black holes. I can't possibly explain the physics nor do I even comprehend it all, but here is the wiki article about this device:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LHC

I love it that real science is purposefully injected into the show's plot.

Cool, is this maybe a clue as to what another branch of DHARMA does.

I think it was Solarchap who posted the same picture a few months back. I tend to think it is coincidence and believe the Dharma symbols seen on the show were based expressly on the Buhddist Dharmachakra or Hindu Wheel of Life.

However the CERN project does fit into the LOST universe on a scientific level given that some scientists are afraid that this thing is going to tear a hole in the fabric of space and time. I might point out as I did in the other post though that the collider pictured actually has ten sides as opposed to eight.

Damn! Sorry Sham.
I didn't see Solar's original post.
I wasn't trying to rip off anyone's theory.
My bad.

Still a good call Molly. I remember seeing this on a special, knowing me it was probally The History Channel. It is theorized to possible create a mini black hole but I belive its original purpose is to recreate a mini big bang. Scarry.

Yes its a big bang they want to re-create.....I knew that but didnt remember I knew that until reading your post Vincent lol

It was featured on one of those "end of the world" documentaries...they dramatised various scenarios that could wipe out human civilasation and this was one of them, along with massive tsunamis and the like.

I think, along with the post about 2012, that there is definitely an end of world theme within Lost so comparing these themes with what is going on in the world might just bring up an answer....

Agreed SunnyP!
End of the world, looking at the big bang for answers, black holes galore. I`m sensing a theme.
