Ben and Jacobs connection.....

Biblically , Ben is the name of Jacob’s youngest son. Whos to say that Bens father is really who we are ment to belive it to be?
We all know that Bens mother died while giving birth to Ben, and coincidentaly Horace was there to help. I think there is a connection with Bens mother dying and the pregnancy prob on the island. His father also really did not like Ben. We all assumed that its becuse of when Emily died while giving birth…..but maybe theres more to it then just that.
Maybe Emily was somehow impregnated scientifically with links to Jacob….as some sort of experiment for the pregnancy issue on the island. (maybe that flashback of her working on the island before her death hasent played out yet) There have been alot of “Daddy issues” theorys on here, and maybe this ties into those theorys as well. And maybe Roger Linus had a dislike for Ben because he also knew that Ben was not really his. Also when he was hired he was hired as a Work Man….so why would he be taken to the Island under a different assumption for a better job? Becuase Darma knows that Ben is special, and they need Roger to come to the island so he will bring Ben there. That could also explaign how Ben seems to be all knowing and have special abilities. He inherited them from his father..…Jacob.

In following this logic does that mean that Jacob is also Lockes farther? Thats a tough one to swallow.

seems that neither ben nor locked had much of a father at all.

it would be an extremely inciteful guess on your part portroyal if you called this...

however even if the necessary blood cannot be found to establish the biological connection, there might be the argument that whatever jacob is or represents is a father figure for the two

while this isnt paternity it might be significant

You might be on to something here. I think there has been an ancient prediction of the chosen one, likely born premature to a woman named Emily. Emaculate conception may have been something to watch for, but right now there is no way to know for sure.

Maybe the DI learned about this and went out to find this special boy. When Horace and Olivia came upon Ben's birth, they thought they had found the one.

Have you edited this? When did we see a flashback of Emily working on the island?

I dident mean to say that we have seen that flashback yet, what I am trying to say with that is it could possibly be a scenerio down the road. By saying "hasent played out yet" I mean that we have not seen it yet and It could possibly happen. Sorry if that confussed ya. Laughing

OK, Don't buy it, sorry.

I could get it if she left the island to give birth (to survive), but for writers to kill her anyway way just doesn't seem to add up to me.
