My wild predictions on next season Empty My wild predictions on next season

I was watching the last few episodes of season 4 again and started thinking about what they were setting us up for next season.

After John and Ben's exchange of "...how you made him think it was his idea..." "No, i'm not like you Ben" "No, John, your not"

I think John is going to learn to be like Ben. He'll find out the hard way what it means to be the responsible leader that has to make the tough decisions.
The remaining people we see on the island are Alperts crew and the remaining losties. I think Alpert will try and convince Locke that the losties aren't "good people" and must be "removed" from the island.(like Ben and the purge perhaps)
Lockes struggle between wanting to be the chosen leader he thinks he should be, and not wanting to be a mass murderer should make good conflict throughout next season. It also gives tons of chances for flashbacks of Locke getting beat up in high school and stuff like that.

I think Christian will be Johns guiding voice until he begins to doubt his faith in the “Island’s Will” and probably around the end of the season he’ll learn that it wasn’t Jacob he has been listening too. John will then leave the island the only way he knows he can, and that is to move the island again. (now I’m in the camp that thinks the island moved forward in time and not necessarily to another point on the globe)

I think the losties will look to Sawyer for answers and to be their new leader. I can just imaging a scene him saying to himself “I never thought I would be asking my self this… what would Jack do?”
He and Juliet will butt heads for control because Juliet knows more about the island and the remaining others.

Sun, I believe is on a revenge quest against Widmore. It was his boat that blew up Jin and his mercs that were sent to kill everyone. Her meeting and business proposal with him is just her way of getting in closer for the bigger kill. Her taking control of her fathers company would show Widmore she is a formidable ally. Also I saw her hostile takeover of her fathers company as quite possibly her ultimate vengeance against her father. She couldn’t kill him, but she can take away his life’s work and give him an allowance she sees fit. Totally flip the tables on him and make him not be able to do anything without first asking her permission.

Dan, Charlotte and Miles are going to be fun. Three new sets of confusing flashbacks and three new mysteries to unravel. Charlottes “birth place”, Dan’s eerie knowledge of Dharma operations and Miles… well everything about Miles really. I do get the feeling that Miles will somehow be the one who convinces John that its not Jacob he’s been getting his orders from.

And just to throw on out there, I think Bernard will the character to get killed next season. It’s just a wild guess, but he’s about the last person that’s not a major character whose dying would be a huge shock around the middle of the season.
And I don’t think Jin is really dead. I still think they can show a flashback to him jumping off the freighter just in the nick of time and then his body washing up on shore. We’ll watch Jin working desperately to get to Sun, while Sun plots her revenge for her dead husband that we know isn’t dead!

Anywhos… nine more months to go!!! Laughing

Some interesting directions to go here.

I do believe that Sun is out to nail Widmore to the wall.

I also believe that John is not going to have an easy time as leader, he may even be a disaster.
