Lost Relationships
Hi everyone,
As this section wasn't being used as much as the others I thought I'd start a new topic.
How's your lost-related relationship with your lost ones, I mean loved ones. Do you agree with their theories or argue with them until three o'clock in the morning about the most unimportant things. Are they people of faith or science. Are they Jaters or Skaters.
I personally find that my brother me and agree on most things and I spot things that he didn't see. And vice versa. (Thats such a great word isn't it, saves so much typing.) But my Dad is like an AC rant machine. He picks up on the things that I take for granted, like that Locke never tells anyone where he's been, regardless of what he's seen. It can get very annoying. But he does agree that it's one of the best made shows on tv today.

A few people i work with watch but they're not as obsessive about it as i am. My wife pretends to be all excited when i tell her about the new theory i just read. I think she just watches it to see Sawyer and Sayid run around and get sweaty.

My husband gets into it when I point stuff out, and he is very encouraging in my debates. I would say he is a man of faith, though he would deny it. He really enjoys the show but not as nearly as I do, and well everyone else thinks I am nuts!!

My mom was the one to get me into Lost after the first season.
The problem is that I have to explain things to her. Same goes
for my secretary she loves the show but somehow falls asleep during
the last 15min. This to me is inexcuseable even with the 10 O` clock
start times. I have a few patients at my office that I can chew there
ears about Lost but the only people as crazy about the show as me,
as far as I can find are on this site!

That is what I`m saying Stickman.
Even worse when I show up Friday morning and want
to talk about the latest episode but I first have to explain
how it ended.

Re: Lost Relationships
Well I guess my daughter is more into it than anyone else in the family, but she does not get into the analyzing as much, and does not live here, still I can talk to her, without having to explain everything.
For instance : I might say something to her like; When Charlie was down in "The Looking Glass" and started receiving the transmission from Penny, why didn't he run through the door instead of bolting it from inside after Mikhail had the grenade ready to smash through the window.
He could have possibly saved himself ,and told Desmond that it was "Not Pennys Boat" instead of writing it on his hand just before drowning...She would know exactly what I meant, and say something like because he knew it was meant to be, from Desmonds vision. So, I guess she would be more of science.
But, if I would say that same thing to my husband, I might have to remind him of who Charlie and Desmond were, and What is "The Looking Glass" and whose Mikhail ...
When you need to explain it ,well... you get the idea.
My son knows I watch ,but he doesn't. I am teased a lot about how involved I get. I would characterize myself as being both Science, and Faith.
But always the analyzer !!

Re: Lost Relationships
My boyfriend hates lost. We've had some real fights about it before. Especially when I told him that there were for sure only two seasons left (because Darlton said so). He says that as long as it's making money there will be seasons. I was so angry! Darlton would never betray us like that! Plus once all the mysteries are solved there will be nothing left to show.

katesawjack I am still bothered by Charlie not bolting for that door, how dare you bring up past resentment and confusion.
ravenontheleft as much as I would love to watch Lost for the next 10 years I like how they are planning for the end, so I`m sorry your boyfriend might be a great guy but you can get the last laugh when they end it in 2 years.

It was too sad, I was screaming at the TV "Charlie get out of there." Drowning is a phobia I have anyway, I almost did once.

I'm not one for a happy ending, but obviously in this instance I am glad it ended happily! so what happened? was it in a swimming pool or the sea? did you save yourself, or were you rescued? what's the story there.

Re: Lost Relationships
Thanks SolarChap, Well it was just one of those crazy teen follow the leader things.I was at the local swimming Lake hanging out with some of the girl friends. I think I was about thirteen.
I was just learning to swim, and a few of the gals said lets go over to the High dive, So I jumped too! Well one of the girls had this long pony tail, and saw I was in trouble so she jumped in to try and save me.Well I was really starting to panic so I grabbed it ,and was taking her down with me.
Lucky for both of us there was a lifeguard came to the rescue. I have never went in water that is over my head since. Strangely though I love the Ocean, but just looking at it not going in it.
Now You know the rest of the story. Aren't you glad you asked.

Re: Lost Relationships
My husbands best friend died in a lake in 2004. It was the worst year of my life. My husband was on the boat. I hate lakes. They freak me out. They always did though. Oceans I can tolerate. Baths are nice. Chlorine rules.

Re: Lost Relationships
I am glad I asked, and for two reasons:
1) the main reason being I'm glad you didn't go to Davy Jones Locker!
and the second reason is partly fuelled by your statement:
so...
2) I love that! I don't know why I laughed out loud at that bit! Obviously I already knew you were ok, so it's nothing ghoulish, but the thought of you taking ponytail-gal with you, even if only in a panic and not premeditated, somehow satisfied my dark-side imagination!
I am phobic about wasps, they terrify me and I once crashed a car because of one and properly whiplashed my neck as I fled in terror with my seat belt still on.
Blonde, that is awful about the Boat/Lake I don't know what to say.

Re: Lost Relationships
Time passes. It's all good. Time is an amazing machine. He was a marathon runner And so my husband put together this huge group of people and we run White Rock Marathon every year. He was a bit of a "ladies man" if you will. Every girl he met he said...."they have the fever for me". So we all have these crazy shirts that say "Got the fever?" & on the back they have this ridicoulous pic of him after a few beers making kissing lips at the camera. Last year Apple gave us all ipods & my husband put all his fave songs on them & we had a blast running our ass off. You have to honor life.

LMAO! I picked out that little gem too my friend. I'm going to save that one for a rainy day. "AC rant machine" heh.
My brother and I haven't discussed it much lately but our interaction sounds a lot like you and your brothers HSM. He has a great eye for detail. We agree on a few things: Kate's a tramp, Sawyer & Hurley are cool, Locke is nut, Michael is (was) annoying, and Jack is a stubborn idiot.

Your husband's mate is most certainly not forgotten, that is really good that you do the run every year with the shirts, I salute you.
Kate is definitely a tramp, but that would not stop me slapping her rodger! (I thought I'd blend the slang) I didn't phrase it the other way around because I didn't like the sound of 'rodgering her ass' !!
That sounded a bit Captain Pugwash to me! and a one way street is a one way street
that is such a cool saying and whilst I am no marathon runner, I always like to think that about myself! I am often proved wrong though LOL!...."they have the fever for me".
