Answer: Who's voice in Dr. Candle video?

The actor who plays the doctor commented about the other voice in the video. He said, "All I can tell you is "yes" I know who did the voice, and "yes" it definitely is someone the audience has seen before."

Now I am 100% convinced it is Faraday. I mean no one we've seen so far has that voice. Craziness!

(Disclaimer: I am yet to properly just sit and watch and watch and listen and listen over and over until I can get into the video - so am reserving judgement fully until then.)

Problematically, of course, if the video was made on the Island in 1978 then it makes Dan Faraday being there incredibly hard to reconcile.

But as I have said, I have yet to totally hammer it over and over. . . Maybe that will change my mind. . . And then that will send my brain into a tailspin trying to come up with ways to make that make sense!

To me, it sounded like Jack. His voice is kind of nasally too.

When the person off the screen (maybe the one filming it) says the word "off" I detect a NY accent. Not a strong one yet enough of the aw sound ........... as in awf........that is typical of the NY/NJ area. Even with elocution lessons it is a difficult vowel sound to change. If you compared saying coffee as either cohfee or cawfee you would hear yourself changing the way that o sound is said. I've listened to the tape a couple times and that voice is not all that familiar to me. Jack (Matthew Fox) grew up in Wyoming. Wonder if any of the male actors are from the tri-state (USA) area?

Just checked the actor who plays Miles Straum. Here is is biography from Lostpedia.

Another piece of that puzzle that's making me makes me think Miles could be Pierre Chang's son or relative. Perhaps Miles is not aging either. Charlotte could be in that possible equation as well. Just a feeling I have.

I haven't been around long enough to distinguish different accents. And I can't possibley take a guess. But the first thing that came to mind is the background voices in Dark Side of the Moon.

LOL. I agree with that AC. I am trying to make on a theory of how this apparent time travelling by Faraday could explain some things we have seen before, like Faraday's notebook, him crying at the sight of the wrecked footage, etc. But, every time I try I feel like my mind is gonna fry!

I'll keep trying though....

Well we do know that Faraday learned the setting for his time travel machine (with Eloise) from Desmond so maybe he did some traveling of his own back to the 70's. I don't know the specifics, but Faraday was doing something time travelingish.

Me to I finally had a chance to site at home and watch it and it sounds a lot like Faraday to me as well. Now how he was in the 1970's I don't know how he pulled that off ???

Hello all, I haven't posted in a while...got a new puppy who's been taking all my free time! He's a golden retriever, the largest in his litter, and we named him Hurley "Hugo" Reyes. He was born on 4/8/2008 and the crate that we bought has the #42 stamped in it for some reason Anyway, had to throw that in but I'm definitely thinking it sounds like Faraday. I didn't even have to listen to it twice when I started thinking that...the only thing that did throw me was the NY sounding accent on one of the words he used. Faraday didn't sound like he had an accent in the show.

Thanks Cosmic! I wanted to name him Sawyer but my husband almost gagged on the idea, so Hugo it was...since he was the biggest one in his litter, I guess it was quite fitting. Hopefully he won't start playing with imaginary dogs! We have another golden who's almost 11 and yes they're the sweetest on earth.
