Why did Desmond say 305 EP 12

Why did he say 305 when he should of said 325? Any thoughts.

He knew the new cordinants. The island has moved. I think sayid used those with the raft.

I believe that you need to leave on the same baring you arrived on. Sayid arrived with Frank in the helicopter on a baring of 305. Frank swayed off course slightly resulting in side effects for Desmond.

why didn`t the franks off course affect sayid? Was he protected by Ben or did it only effect Desmond because he was already exposed to radiation?

They basically followed the bearing of 305 which is the safe course for the Losties and the freighter people, however, Desmond arrived on a different bearing on his boat, years before. Therefore, Desmond's correct bearing is different - resulting in time fluctuations.

going back and forth between teheisland and the frieghter requires TWO bearings. 305 and the recipricol bearing of 125. if the bearing to the island is 305 degrees and you leave the island on the same bearing, you wil have to travel all the way around the earth to get back to the island.

as far as a bearing on a compass goes, following this line of thought i wonder if there is any significance if you took a bearing of 108?

I think Desmond was affected and not Sayid or anyone else on the chopper because of all the electro-magnetic radiation he encountered when he turned the fail-safe key and got all naked and stuff.

might be good time to consider the idea behind the faraday chamber...which some say is what the hatch desmond was in , was such a thing....protects against electro magnetism....

which could mean desmond had been protected from the effects of the island moving...so when he gets out of the hatch....he starts to kinda climatise...as it were....

so hes on a slightly diff bearing...maybe...
