Help me host a picture PLEASE!

Yea I`m horrible on the computer. I copied a birthday cake for AC but can`t figure out how to display it. I tried coping the url but it didn`t seem to work... Any ideas?

Theres 2 ways - either paste the url into the post with img tags either side like this (but with no spaces) [img ]image url here[/img ]

Or you can press the little button in the new post that looks like a picture (hover your mouse over each button to see a description - it will say "image") and put the url in there. If that doesnt work the url may be incorrect, post it here and I'll check

Thats not the correct url for the picture - where is it hosted?

ah I see, you copied the wrong section of the picture properties, it should have been the address/url - http://farm1.static.flickr.com/143/389631460_caa8f22cb0.jpg

Copy that and it should work

The URL should end with a picture file extension like .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, etc...

If the picture was posted in a blog, you may not be able to find the direct URL link.

Ok I may be pushing it with my stupidity but.... I`m know trying to take a picture from my computer, tried hosting it and nothing seems to work. Sorry. Thanks!

I use www.photobucket.com to host pictures from my pc that I want to put on a forum. Its a free account and once you sign up you can upload as many pics as you like.

Then its just a case of copying the pic link from underneath the picture on photobucket.

Alternatively, if you click the button that says "host an image" you have the option of subscribing to www.serving.com which means you can upload and host pictures directly through this forum.

The basic rule of thumb is host your image online somewhere with public access before linking to it
