Charlies appearances to Hurley-warning, spoilers about season finale

I was just reading on the other site a theory about the Island not actually going anywhere, per the video saying that "the rabbit will seem to disappear". Then, I got to thinking, if the island got displaced to another time, maybe that is what happens to people in general when they die on the island? Maybe the island just sort of throws them into the future or something. I'm not sure if anyone else has had this thought yet...

That wouldn't correlate with, say, Yemi remarking to Mr. Eko: "You speak to me as if I were your brother."

Nor all the murdered gangsters that tormented Eko, too.

And Christian Shephard did die off-Island, as well.
