Leonards not really crazy...maybe
Ok yall,
I was just looking over Lostpedia again to freshen up, and I was reading Leonard Simms profile, and a certian sentence in there triggered a thought. they say------- 'Leonard only once stopped repeating the numbers (to the extent of our knowledge) when Hurley told him about the lottery Leonard seemed to sober up, and he frantically warned Hurley of the dangers the numbers carried'
Would a truly insane person be able to suddenly stop being 'crazy' whenever he or she felt like it? I dont think so. I think that Leonard knows of the island and the numbers somehow. He knows the dangers of knowing, and the fact that Abaddon is looking for people that know. Since there is such a danger of knowing about the island, he knows he has to play dumb so to speak so they wont even care if he knows.....whos going to believe a crazy guy anyways?
If this had been brought up before then I appologize, I havent seen it posted yet myself.

maybe he has a slight case of "approched the island at the wrong bearing fever"
I think he's nuts, the island wanted him that way.

I think that is a very interesting statement. If he is crazy or not he has a purpose thatMyStarbuckHatesLost wrote: the island wanted him that way.
needs to be fulfilled. Maybe his destiny was simply to push Hugo towards the island.

My view of Leonard is that he appears to be brainwashed and drugged rather than crazy. I have read several theories that have suggested that the reason Leonard keeps repeating those numbers is because they are his constant. This sounds plausible enough.
However if he has been brainwashed then this repetitive set of numbers may have been presented to him, and that his task has been to keep repeating those numbers for some purpose. Of course santa Rosa may be a front for the DI, and so far we have seen Libby, Hurley and Dave at Santa Rosa and on the island.
It will be interesting to see what the real connection between the hospital and the DI. Then finally we will see whether Leonard is really crazy.

Maybe he was "brainwashed" in room 23? That would be interesting.

Interesting theory, however i think when anyone talks about numbers in a different circumstance his brain clicks on to normal mode, and maybe he was a dharma initative member before he came to the asylum, possibly.

Cool idea. Wasn't Locke's mother said to have been at Santa Rosa at one point?
