Super powers!!!

With recent topics from Doomsday to Global warmming I thought something fun was in order.

This post is to simply express what super powers you would like if given the choice.

I would like to know what power you would like in your life and what power you would pick if stuck on the island.
You can ofcourse express as many as you like but as a challange if you had to pick one???
If you have a better choice then those provided in the poll, please feel free to tell us about it.

I will reveal my favorite power later...

Telekenesis. Definately. I had a list of all the others and why I didn't pick them.But it was lost, and I can't be bothered to do it again.

well my first thought before I looked at the poll was inadvisability but Time Travel is my pick. My husband and I are always talking about what we are going to do when we get our TARDIS (for those of you not Doctor Who fans that is a time travel machine)

we meet when we were 17 (we are 32 now) and I have been in love with him since he first walked into our 11th grade history class wearing a Bill the Cat t shirt. At that time I was to shy to talk to him so like all shy 16 year old girls I slyly followed him and hung out at the end of the hallway waiting to get up enough nerve to go into the sci-fi club meeting to talk to him. (yes we are still big sci-fi geeks)

A year later I talked to him at a party and we finally started talking and briefly dated for the first of many times. It did not work out that time but we became good friends and he has been my best friend since that time (I will have to post our story later it is a bit long for a Friday night of drinking... my husbands just said it is not a night of drinking if I am not on Losties )

any way I digress we always talk about if we can time travel we will go back to high school and I will have the nerve to talk to him and we can both be saved from the 16 years of on and off dating and have all of those years back and spend them together.

For all of the younger people on the site ~ THS ~ if you meet someone at 16 years old and fall completely in love go talk to them!! You never know what could happen my husbands has said many time he knew who I was and would have talked to me then, ... if only I knew.

Oh, and I have voted! I was torn between time travel and teleportation, but decided teleportation would be more useful. Think of where I could go and how fast I could get there!! LOL

What a coincidence, I was in Mystic,CT just 5 days ago,which is close to Annie. If your date would have been then, we could have crossed each others paths.

If I could have just one super power,it would be to read minds.

invisibility trumps all other options for me. It is the only non-complex choice that could change my life 100 percent. The whole "fly on a wall" deal. I would know who & what I was dealing with all the time. Having that edge would make the alternatives irrelevant IMO.

I go for mind reading, as that is better than invisible as you get to see what people are actually thinking as opposed to what they say or do.!

But would you really want to know what people are thinking about you all the time Stitch.

I dont know what you're on about, I already have all of those powers - apart from superspeed as using all the others makes me knackered and the last thing I want to do is run around.

I have to be a sap and say I would choose healing. To be able to heal the people I love would be amazing. But then invisibility would be fun!

There isn't much call for super powers in my life. So I've gone for mind reading/control. Probably this would turn me into an evil scheming Lex Luthor mastermind. . . and someone else with a different super power for good would have to try and stop me.

Angelo, I'm thinking that with my teleportation powers, you'll have a tough time finding me to read MY mind!!

Yeah mind reading it is for me too. It would be nice to know what people REALLY think about you. Plus, I like playing poker, so I would imagine that would give me just a little edge at the table.

Time travel would also be cool too. Forget the poker. I'll just travel into the future, buy a Gray's Sports Almanac, and place a few bets. $$$

I would pick healing not only would it help me in my job being able to heal anyone could change the world if not drive me crazy.

I would travel the world splitting my time healing the very rich for millions of dollars which would allow me to spend that money healing and helping the poor and most needy. Ofcourse middle class gets screwed as always.

Oh and if I could also heal myself aswell as others like Wolverine I would age very slowly if not be immortal.

AC I think you would be the ultimate super villian and it would take the rest of us banding together to take you down.

Vincent, I wanted to pick Invisibility, but to explain my reasons would have invoked immediate censorship, and rightfully so! so I opted for the mind control (I aint interested in the mind reading bit, just the control) & within a week I would have an army of ladies at my whim and I'd have a massive grin on my face every night and every morning say no more!

Ahhh Solarchap how you make me laugh! The date thank you was not horrible besides the forgoten reservations the two hours in the car and the worst meal I have ever had at my favorite resturant.
The events that took place afterwards made up for everyting else.

Now as far as your powers go I`m afraid you would sucum to the darkside and join AC as the start to a powerful Legion Of Doom.
