Found in New Orleans
Well the city is in okay shape three years after the floods. But many of the outskirts and residential areas are still devestated. I almost couldn't bear to look at street after street of abandoned homes and businesses as we drove into town.
The French Quarter and the downtown business districts are pretty much rebuilt (the Quarter got away with little damage)
My advice to everyone: Never take two 16-year old girls to Bourbon street in New Orelans, You'll get in a lot of fights fending off drunk, creepy a**holes grabbing at them. I whacked one guy in the back of the head when he grabbed my daughter and Starbuck went after a guy who got in our little girl's face. You don't mess with Starbuck...she is an ex-Army M.P. (military police for those of you in the UK, not Memeber of Parliment)
Starbuck and I went to one of the oldest bars in the World. It was built in the late 1700's. It is lit only by candle light and the drinks are rather strong:) Oh, it is also haunted!
Women shop in packs. Coordinated attacks designed to surround and wear down their prey
Starbuck and I have decided to adopt the 4-foot long catfish at the zoo...the one trying to look up her dress
Awwwwwwwww
It is important to know where the clean bathrooms are in N.O.
Sometimes Starbuck gets a little frisky at inappropriate times...we were asked to leave the museum right after this
Bourbon Street early on a Monday evening...can you say debauchery about to commence!
My camera was drunk
You have to bury people above ground in N.O. or they float back up...N.O. is 5-feet below sea level
A streetcar named Starbuck
My daughter (blond on right) and not-daughter (not-blond on not-right)
The streetcars are back up and running (here in the Garden District) The funny thing is that all of the old, retired, obsolete streetcars are being used. The new modern ones were all destroyed in the flood. I guess these are the Mark-II Vipers of streetcars (BSG ref for y'all)

Welcome home MSHL! Great shots of your trip and beautiful family!
Its funny how you have to fend off perverts in the street but get kicked out of a museum for a little innocent rabbit fondling.

My husband and I spent our 10 year wedding anniversary in NOLA. He is from Baton Rouge originally, and we lived outside of NOLA for a year. We've entertained the thought of moving back.
