We were where it made landfall (after the Keys) and had quite a bit of rain and gusty winds. As it moved further north we were hit with heavy duty monsoon like deluges from the outer bands coming in off the Gulf of Mexico. Yesterday more rain and today it's on and off, heavy at times, but nothing like the poor souls up in the Jacksonville area were hit with. It's been a very wet and wild ride. It's a massive storm as far as the size of it's bands so I hope your area needed the rains and didn't have too much in the way of the gustier winds. Thanks for asking how we are!

Glad you are all ok. That sounds pretty scarey to me.

Thanks. The scariest one for us was Charlie. We evacuated and stayed in a solidly built (further inland) hotel. We watched the other hotel's roof across the road from us get peeled off like a can being opened. The roof on our hotel was badly damaged and we ended up in total darkness, no power, and on the fifth floor with our Afghan hound and cat. Our house? Not a lick out of place. The last gusts even blew the downed leaves off the driveway! Chaos to the left and right of us, down trees, overflowing lakes, and we were so blessed to have a safe dry haven to return to.

That's the year we bought a generator to have for the future!

Just reading that gives me heart palputations Cosmic. So we are lucky to have you around.
