Frozen Donkey Wheel....poss explaination? - EP 12

Frozen Donkey Wheel is the code name given to the twist at the end of this season.

After watching episode 12, I wonder if it has something to do with how the island is moved.

In SeanieB's recap for episode 11, he draws a diagram of how he thinks the island is moved. This is a wheel, with the island at the centre, time is the circumference, and each spoke is a bearing away from the island leading to a different time line. The island would be moved in time by turning on its axis in time, pointing to a new timeline.

Frozen - it is currently frozen in one timeline.

Donkey - Traditionally used to carry equipment and baggage, could be translated as a vessel, or even the island as a vessel for certain properties and people

Wheel - The turning of the island to bring it to a new timeline.

The wheel of time according to wikpediea... Very prevalant in Buddhism regarding time as cyclical and repeating. Also It is belived in Buddhism that there will be a great world war waged that will see the mystical kingdom of Shambala expanded. I like the parrals to Shambala and the Island.

Hmm. . . If the image I have in my head of a donkey wheel is right, and somehow this means spinning the Island in the same manner. . . Hmmm. . . Perhaps the "frozen" part indicates the Island is destined for some place cold.

Mind you, do you happen to know what the code ending for the previous finale was? Snake in the box, or something, was it not? I think if we took the 'snake in the box' phrase literally we would find it had nothing to do with the flashforward reveal that turned out to be the actual S3 finale!

I think if it gave too much away, probably the Lost creators wouldn't have let it be known, so I am wary of probing this one too deeply!

Ah yes snake in the mailbox....I read somewhere (forget where) a theory that this meant, like, when you go to your mailbox and put your hand in there expecting to find your mail, but theres a snake instead. It would make you go WTF????

I guess we wont know until after the finale, and it will probably either an "aaah of course" moment or an "huh?" moment

Didn't Daman/Carlton state in a Podcast that the codename "Frozen Donkey Wheel" was completely irrelevant to the plot?

No Veefre, it is the codename for the surprise twist that will keepp alive the debates and arguments over the long break between now and Season Five. THough it may have very little to do with frozen donkeys or donkey wheels!

We will hopefully understand the code when the episode airs!

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear.

The producers said that the name "Frozen Donkey Wheel" should not be taken literally.

Of course I know it's the codename for a key scene in the season finale.

The point is that it's not supposed to be taken to mean, necessarily, that there's a wheel, a donkey, or something frozen involved.

Or was I the only one who heard that in a podcast???

That's a tough one but I too think it has something to do with the island being stopped in one position and something supplying power will move it.

I like the idea of a literal translation.

Frozen donkey - in a wheel? frozen wheel - with a donkey on top.
Maybe a democrat in a ride with some pimped out rims.
Ice is frozen - maybe Ice translates into diamonds. - a donkey with a diamond necklace?
