Jack responsible for Jins death ? - EP 12
I found the last episode a great episode and I really think we can get a lot of information from it. What I found important in this episode is the relation between Jack and Sun when they got off the island,.
The first scene we see between Sun and Jack is in the plane when they are flying to the military camp and Jack saying they think we are in shock, with sun responding we ARE in shock. This could be a referral to Jin dieing just before they got rescued. Probably Jack had to make a choice to save Jin and all stay on the island, or Jin will die and the rest will get rescued.
The second scene we see between Sun and Jack is at the big press conference. When Sun translates the question if Jin was one of the people that died on the island you can see that is immedialty puts jack on the screen, he looks like hes nervous to what Sun is going to say. When she said “no, he never made if ot the plane” the screen goes to Jack again and he looks kinda relieved. Then when Sun goes to her father and tells him that HE and someone else is responsible for Jins death, Jack instantly was my first choice.
When we see the funeral of Christian Shephard and Jack gives a speech, Hurley Kate Aaron and Sayid all sit on the front row, but no Sun. Maybe thats the reason when we saw Jin his funeral that only Hurley showed up, because he is the only 1 who she still got contact with.
That was my observation + my first own post on this site, any feedback/tips/criteria are welcome !

Hi, welcome to the site.
I think it may also be possible that if Sun wans't at the funeral (I don't remember but I think you're right) That she may have been back in Korea..its a long trip!
But I think her line about 2 people being responsible for Jin's death may mean Jack (or it may mean her too)
Good first posting

I have thought Jack is carrying some kind of burden for a while now, ever since Egg Town when Kate said "I understand why you dont want to see the baby"
I thought then perhaps he would be responisble for Claires death and felt guilty. This ties in with that also.
Hope we know by the end of this season!

I don't think it will be Jack who is the other person responcible for Jin's death. Jack would never kill him on purpose and if it were an accident, Sun doesn't seem the type to hold a grudge on accidents even though she would be so upset about her husbands death. I just dont think she would blame Jack for an accident.
Maybe Keamy is the other person because he blows up the freighter or something with all that C4. That slo-mo scene with Sun looking at the door closing on the freighter made me think that might be the last time she saw Jin.

Well we definatley know that Jin died and its not just a lie because otherwise Sun and Hurley wouldnt have visited the grave. He could well be the cause of the death. There was obviously some extreme situation whenthe six got off the island.

No, surely not! Don't make Jack a murderer! Hasn't he got enough to feel guilty about!?
Nah, I don't think this is the way of it. I imagine if Jack had killed Jin then the likes of Sayid and Hurley wouldn't be so openly friendly with him, and Sun would have surely been far colder (look at how cold she was with her own father when they embraced as she disembarked the plane!).

tr41c wrote:Jacqui, I don't think Jack would ever set out to kill someone without some justification. My guess would be that at some point Jack may have to make the call to save some and not others. And Jin may be lost as a result of that call.
Ahh yeah I agree He's always the one making calls, so I bet you're right.
