Who Is Hans Van Eeghen?
So I signed up at the Octagon Global Recruiting stie and got an E-mail confimation today. Funny thing is that the carbon copy was sent to a Hans Van Eeghen from the Dharma Initiative. If your respond to him, he's apparently out in the field. I wonder where he might be.
Anyways, check out the link below, it talks more about the interesting things that were found. Apparently if you go to the OGR website and look at the sourcecode it says, "March has 32 days," which is supposed to be a reference to the comic book Richard Alpert showed Locke in "Cabin Fever."

If you google the name Hans Van Eeghen you eventually see an entry for Descendants of Hugo de Groot (1583-1645) -gen X-67-82 and XI-1-28 ... which takes you to worldroots.com/foundation/personages/hugodegrootdesc1583-10.htm - 89k -
Its a long listing of unfamiliar Dutch family names, but we do see the name de Groot. I have no idea what this means, but its something.

Yeah, perhaps it does come down to a bloodline that makes all of these people special. I tried checking for the name as an anagram as well, but found nothing. You never know with these german names, but I'm guessing this will unfold to tell us a lot of information.
Notice how OGR is sponsored by the DI and not the Hanso foundation. This is new! Thanks for moving this to the proper location SBP.

This is sheer coincidence, guys. There's this Leo van de Pas guy, an historian, who published ages ago that list. There's people who emailed him, and >>here<< is a sample of what Mr. van de Pas says --third post from the bottom, signed by some "Mr. Writer" guy.
It seems "de Groot" and "van Eeghen" are fairly common Dutch last names...

Re: Who Is Hans Van Eeghen?
Yeahh...this is funny..Henk van Eeghen is a editor on LOST ( see the opening sequences ) who has the same name as.....Hans van Eeghen is a desecendent of Hugo de Groot.
My grandmothers name was de Groot, she married to a my grandpa who's name is van Tartwijk....and that's my lastname.....
This is just a funny coincidence!...
But these names are really common Dutch names, I am Dutch, and I can tell you that you can compare the name de Groot to "Jones"....van Eeghen is on the other hand that that common.
