New email from van Eeghen
It's weird, because I received this email after having taken the test:
By the way, "hidden" in the source code you may find this:
I'm sure that must be an anagram of something, but there are more than 60,000 and I don't feel like checking every one of them...

RE: OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF TESTING
Namaste.
Today is the most wonderful of days.
It marks the launch of the Dharma Initiative's Volunteer Recruitment Program.
Having completed the eligibility test you can now download your official Dharma Initiative ID card. Simply go to My Profile and download your
card. Carry it with pride.
Today you will also be able to commence our extensive testing program that will assess your suitability for a range of research roles within the Dharma Initiative.
Many years ago I was asked to help rebuild this noble community of scientific inquiry. With its genuinely altruistic vision, I understood
that a vibrant volunteer cohort would be a fundamental part of this effort.
Together, with my dedicated recruiting team, I have searched the globe for the best and brightest to join us, to form the foundations of the newly reconstituted Dharma Initiative.
Today we lay that foundation. So that together we can guide the world to a better tomorrow.

- Code:
meta name="Alert" content="Batteries Ice Pint…"

DarkUFO, courtesy of someone else, came up with the anagram solution.
Patience is bitter.
Given the servers seem to have suffer a meltdown (prompting me and many other users to be unable to play the game since the thing just sits there, blank screen, blatantly not loading) that's a particularly ironic translation.

Re: New email from van Eeghen
Guys, I'm playing the test since about an hour, no delays, no problems... no getting any better with my score, either
PS: I'm not using WordSmith any more... more than 60 thousand anagrams, and DarkUFO's one is not one of them!!! Harrumph...

Re: New email from van Eeghen
Batteries Ice Pint could be a cryptic clue - I have a strong feeling it is.
Think of cryptic clues for crosswords, with a phrase's words being exchanged for words that mean the same thing, but make no sense as a phrase.
Batteries/Energy/Power
Ice/Frozen/Freeze
Pint/Measure/Liquid
All these words are hinting at some kind of frozen liquid? Frozen energy?
If matter is frozen it is frozen energy, the sub atomic particles are in a frozen state which does not allow them to move so they are in suspended animation until the structure changes.
Grasping at straws perhaps......but I see no anagram that makes any sense....Patience is bitter makes no sense!!

Re: New email from van Eeghen
Patience Is Bitter, I think, is an in-joke the ARG programmers slotted in there mainly because of the slow-start to this game getting up and running.
I don't think it's escaped their attention that people have become frustrated and impatient.
I don't give them credit for anticipating the level of frustration that would arise when the game was up and running and lots of people couldn't access the thing. Patience IS bitter indeed.
