Sometimes? You sometimes think it is pointless to write theories? Quoting Janice, "Aaaaw... Meye... Gawwwwd!!!" It is pointless alright!! That's what makes it fun! Nothing is at stakes, we can be wrong and that's fine, because being wrong we can go on speculating. As soon as someone is dead right... show's over. No show, no fun. Right?

She's 5, therefore not watching LOST for several years, thank you. She's happily watching Disney movies. The ones with pictures in them, mark you. Where none of the character dies. Or, at least, un-dies, if you take my meaning.

I can have this explained to me as many times as possible...the whole paradox thing...but it never really makes any sense to me.

I mean I get multiple universe, I get not killing your grandfather because then how can you be born?

And every time it is brought up I am so into it it's not even funny, but some how all logic eludes me. Eesh, I feel logically challenged.

Anyways, Molly, that would be awesome!! If Widmore was once the leader of the island and he impregnanted Emily (Bens mom) before she left the island and met Roger and she had a one night stand with Roger and now he "the father" of Ben because she said he was. I know thats a lot of what if's, but there are many a girl put in that same sorta situation where she cons her unborn child on someone else. Its not always a bad thing. But I could see it happening!! Well done Molly

I agree with Occam on the notion that you can not time travel unless you use the orchid on the island. Otherwise Widmore and Ben would be able to return to the island at will and that does not appear to be the case.

Additionally I'm going to say that Michael, Ben, Widmore, Jack, and whoever else can't die, it's because the island honestly does need them. I do not think this particular phenomenon has anything to do with time travel. It appears to be in the same vein as the way in which all of the O6 need to (and eventually do) return to the island. All of them need to go back because of some unfulfilled destiny, or so it seems. This is very reminiscent of Michael not being able to kill himself. The story so far seems to suggest that these people were meant to do some specific things on the island.

But to play devil's advocate the whole "the island won't let you die" bit could just be a clever ploy by Ben to fill his own agenda. But it just seems more probable that it is a fate issue and not time travel. I mean fate has been a huge theme throughout the show.

I believe the proper Latin pluralization would be "fora."
