Daniel has notes in his old notebook on the Orchid - EP 12

Surely that has paradox written all over it.

I guess we will see Dan travel in time really soon, and I expect it to happen just as you describe it !

it might work. When he reads through his notebook it seems to me like hes "Orchid.... Hey.... i've heard of that!!" flip flip flip " *Gasp*, I'm surprised its in this notebook of mine!!"

And, when he finds the "Desmond will be my constant" passage he seems like he was really now starting to believe what was written in his own book that he must have had for some time now.

And what if, when he was crying while watching the 815 crash story on the news, that was when he realized "omg... i'm not crazy... that notebook is real.*sob*" (it looks to me like he may been an instituion in that scene)

I like it Lateralus,I don't know that I agree with it but there were some clues to indicate its possible imo. I know the writers have said they want to avoid paradox, but its really hard to avoid in the time travel game.

I'm not claiming to be the high authority on mathematics or physics by any means, but here's what I can glean from that one page:

I can't really define what the equations mean, but I can identify common symbols and variables in the equations. Below the words "Space Like Factors", he has a pair of equations defining I to the A and N to the A. I can't be sure what the variables I and N are, so there isn't much to be said, aside from their correlary relationship. But, above and below that, he has a couple equations defining DT or probably ΔT, meaning "change in time". One of them defines ΔT as 1 minus some factor of R (cut of in the shot). He expands on it later (to the left of the Orchid symbol), and works it out to the point that he scratches down "possible" below it.

OK, I've pretty much said nothing, since I don't know all of his variables, but I can say with some certainty that he considers the Orchid Station to have something to do with his equations for time change, and that he believes he has a working equation for how that functions. That's something, right?

Thats very interesting CF! So that could suggest he knows exactly what the Orchid is.....but how?

How, indeed. That, I hope, comes out in Season 5.
