A poem

God's Wheel by Shel Silverstein

GOD says to me with a kind
of smile, "Hey how would you like
to be God awhile And steer the world?"
"Okay," says I, "I'll give it a try.

Where do I set?
How much do I get?
What time is lunch?
When can I quit?"

"Gimme back that wheel," says GOD.
"I don't think you're quite ready YET."

NOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo....... affraid
I had to force myself to finish reading Imajica. Now i like Clive Barker, but this one was just way painful for me.

I can't remember the last time i had the time to sit down and read a book. Its been at least 3 years or maybe more. I think it was American Psycho by Brett Easton Ellis.

I read all of Stephen Kings stuff in highschool then gave up on him after choking down Wizard and Glass and Desperation.

Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time books are pretty cool.
Frank Herbert's Dune, Dune Messiah, and Children of Dune are definately in my top 10.
(Now i have to go unpack my boxes of books to remember what i have.)

I've given this a gift to a couple freinds as gifts before. Very awesome story about heaven and hell and interdimensional travel. Easily one of my top faves.

Cheap in a good way, Comet-style:

Getting drunk two nights on the run, and spending each night in a different bed with a different girl I'd only met that night. That be cheap, but that be good!

(Please be advised that Mr. Comet only advocates safe sex between fully consenting adults. Rubber up, kids!)

I'd like to dispel a man-made myth. Drunk men in the sack don't remember anything and aren't capable of doing anything worth remembering. Except puking maybe. Throw "comet" in the mix, and well...

Best books: The Man Who Fell to Earth, Lord of the Flies, The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogy. Oh, and Macbeth.

I would ask him but he's probably foaming at the mouth somewhere, (from beer, of course), while discussing the merits of drunken studliness.

For those who haven't encountered the Vlad Taltos novels, they're set in Drageara, a fantasy world populated by Dragearans, a sort of long-lived elves and humans, called Easterners because they live to the east of the Dragearan. All Dragearan are divided into seventeen houses, each named after an animal and partaking of said animal's characteristics. Dragons e.g. are warriors, while the Yendi are expert plotters and manipulators. Vlad Taltos himself is an Easterner who bought himself into the Jhereg, the Dragaeran criminal class and apart from the serf-like Teckla, the only one to allow Easterners to their ranks, for the right price. Jhereg themselves are flying scavenger reptiles, who can form a telephatic bond with their owner, as Loiosh has with Vlad. booklog@cloggie.org
Steven Brust is one of my all time favorite authors besides the Vlad series he has writen some wonderful sci-fi as well as off topic books such as the retelling of the creation of Heaven and Hell. Good summer reads.
