Favourite age?
As I guess your all pretty bored waiting for Lost to come back from its vacation, I thought I start another one of these things.
What was your favourite age/ or age you are looking forward to and why? I myself don't have much to choose from; thirteen years and the first couple I can't remember. Lets see what ages I've got to look forward to.
Mine is actually this year so far. I've had to go to school for a week and I've had six weeks off, I discovered music in this time. I didn't ever get to hear any music that I like now becuase it wasn't usually played. And the stuff I did hear I didn't like. But after I heard 'Creep' and 'No Suprises' the ball hasn't stopped rolling. I discovered a whole range of music that I love and theres so much I haven't heard.
Also when I became thirteen it was like I passed the test and was let into the loop. There was so much stuff that didn't hear when I was 12.
But this is only the first two months... are the rest as good as this.
So what's your favourite age?????

This is so typically American, but 21. It really was the year of complete liberation and not having to worry about much of anything. I did go out and hit the bars starting at 18 (with a fake id) in college, but it wasn't really great until I was 21.
The drinking freely thing wasn't the biggest plus of turning 21, it was the total freedom of going out and being social. 21 is when I had my first real relationship (whom I met out at a bar and obviously it didn't work out), was nearing my last year of college, had a life plan organized... etc... at 22 that all started to fade away and the bright eyed optimist in me vanished. 22 ushered in the real world and I didn't like it... and I still don't.
At 25 (I can rent a car now) I don't think I have much to look forward to age wise until I turn old enough to collect social security, but with the way things are going, my generation won't get any social security even though we are paying into it.

I find each day of life a beautiful gift.
28 and 36 were two excellent years for me with lots of others too. Hard to choose just one.

I agree Cosmic, every day IS a gift.
My favorite age was 30. I had just had my third and last child and just finished building the house of my dreams. It was a beautiful and memorable year for me.

Getting my drivers license on my 17 birthday was one of the earliest and best days of my life. I stood happily on line at the Jamaica, NY Dept of Motor Vehicles for two hours. It symbolized all the good things to come.

Re: Favourite age?
OOOh good question.....I suppose I have a few favourite years lol
At 17 I had my first daughter and went from being a niave girl to a woman....not sure how wise but it definitely changed my life forever.
At 26 I was singing in a rock band having the most amazing time, it done absolute wonders for my confidence and brought me out of my shell.
At 30 I met my fiance, and the last 3 years with him have been the best yet.
Its safe to say I am enjoying my 30's more than any other period in my life. My girls are now teenagers and are becoming amazing young women. My relationship insecurities and a need to be needed have been replaced with a wise confidence and independance. I am earning more money than I have before and we own our own house. For the first time I feel like a grown up (though not too grown up) and secure. I have finally found real love and real trust and respect, and I know who my real friends are. Yep, I love my 30's.

Re: Favourite age?
Im gonna have to say 21 as well. It was a fun year for me being able to hang out at the bars during my senior year of college. Good times, good times.
But don't be in a rush THS. I know how you feel. When you're 13 you wish you were 16 so you can drive. When you're 16 you wish you were 18 so you can officially be an "adult". And when you're 18, you wish you are 21 so you can drink. But after 21 you wish you were 13 again as a young kid with no worries. Enjoy the younger years.

Irocz... ah, the other 25 year old. He is totally right. Being 25 now, all I want to do is be 18 again (no way in hell I would ever want to be 13 again... high school sucked even though I liked it the first time around). Take your sweet ass time.
AC, your comment slightly grossed me out.

Re: Favourite age?
Most of my childhood stories refer to age 8. My first kiss being one of them.
At 16 I had my first something else and I don`t meen beer or drugs.
17 I could drive and my last year of high school were fantastic.
At 22 I was living in NY city and met my future ex-wife.
At 23 we moved to LA.
All in all 30 was a rebirth year for me. So many things changed and for the better. Once you hit 30 the anxiety of your 20`s is gone.
Still I look forward to everyday and ever year life gets better.

Re: Favourite age?
HSM: That is really a tough question for me to answer! I have lived a jammed pack life to say the least! Choosing one particular age, being most difficult.
However, my 30's were 'pinnacle' in the sense of what I accomplished as a person, both personally and professionally, and spiritually.
As you just took an interest in music, I am posting a song which I feel is good advice for any young man. Hope you enjoy it. It is an old Skynard tune, and I like this acoustic version of it.
Even when life sucks, enjoy the breeze. This too shall pass!

No its not that I don't like school, its that his is the last year where I have to do all subjects. Next year I drop some subjects. In just 78 Art and DT lessons I'll never have to do them again.
Then year 10 will be a breeze.

i always look back on when i was aged 9 to 11 as my favourite time, because my dad's work sent us to saudi arabia for those 2 years. it was so interesting, but extremely weird at the same time. very different from australia, anyway.
