Based on the theory that Charlotte and (left-click and highlight next line to read name)
Annie
are the same person we run into a problem.

Charlotte is about 10-15 years too young
But what if...

Annie left the island at a young age and left on the wrong bearing? Might she, and whoever was with her, been shifted to another time like Doc Ray was when his body drifted to the island from (presumably) the wrong bearing?

Might explain a lot and it would allow charlote to be that person.

Hmm yeah it could be right, would explain a lot but then why would Ben not care about Charlotte when he obviously cares about Annie. I also dont believe that Annie was born on the island. There were only a select few and its more likley that she came with her parents.

I know it's not like me to be contrary, but I don't believe it.

Charlotte being Annie is just so. . . not right for me. . . I can barely begin to state the case as to why.

OK, Ben knows everything about everybody. So it's unlikely he would not be aware that Charlotte is Annie. And if she were Annie, why would Ben try to shoot her dead?

I really don't think they are the same people...but a lot of people seem to think they are so this could be a possible explaination.

I'm also in the Charlotte and Annie are different people camp. A comment from Miles and her saying she is trying to find where she was born and suddenly shes Annie.

Why would she change her name to CS Lewis? Why would Ben not recognise her? Why would Ben shoot her? Why would she say I'm still looking for the place I was born when she has been to 'New Otherton' and that is presumably where she would have memories from?

There have been more girls on the island other Annie just because Charlotte has been there before does not make her Annie.
