Has it occured to anyone else that Locke having died off island, and then being brought back to the island may allow him to assume a jacob-esque roll? Basically just like Christian did.

This leads me to speculate that maybe Richard Alpert wasn't looking for a new leader of the others. He was looking for the new Jacob.

Yes that did occur to me too actually......perhaps Christian is standing in for Jacob in the meantime and I have always, since day one, believed that Locke will become Jacob.
