A Day in the Life (rather, Lives)
I watched the news today oh boy
About a plane that crashed below the sea
And though the news was rather sad
Well I just had to laugh
I saw the photograph
He had no ring on his left hand
I didn't notice that the crew had changed
At my TV I stared and stared
I'd seen his face before
It wasn’t him I’m sure
That couldn’t be my friend Seth Norris.
I saw a film today oh boy
The Boston Red Sox had just won the game
For eighty years they hadn’t won
But Ben had made me look
To prove he was no crook
He could have said it was the Cubs.
Woke up, fell out of bed,
Dragged a comb across my head
Went across the station and drank a cup,
And looking up I noticed I was late.
Went to the keyboard and down I sat
Pressed the button in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs to find Inman,
he had my boat and I went into a rage
I read the news today oh boy
A million pounds he spend for that ships log
And though the story pretty odd
A boat that sank many years ago
Now he knows how to get to an Island though, it doesn’t appear anywhere.
I’ll follow him to there.

Yeah, I thought about it afterward that I might have needed clarification.MollyCocktail wrote:::

A Day in the Life, by the Beatles.
Most people will probably recognise the 1st line, then, as I discovered, the rhyme scheme gets tough. Hard to work with.

Oh, come on, CF. You think you're original or something? I posted this back on 30 May:
Stealing my Beatles song - who are you, Michael Jackson?

(Sung to the tune of The Beatles' "A Day in the Life")
I saw the news today, oh boy
Three hundred bodies in the Sunda Trench
And though the picture wasn't clear
I did a double ta-ake
This wreck must be a fa-ake
I know that pilot can't be Seth
He won't leave home without his wedding band
This doesn't make much sense to me
I've not seen his face before
Who is this impersonating Norris on the ocean floor
I got a job today, oh boy
Flying a copter for the freighter crew
And though these guys are rather gruff
Well, I just can't refrain
Got to find that plane
Oceanic 8----1----5...
Handcuffed by Keamy's men
As they went to look for Ben
The device I dropped was found by Jack
And Sawyer grabbed the toolkit from the back
Keamy came to spoil the fun
We were outnumbered two to one
But then the Others came and saved the day
And Ben told Jack he's free to fly away
Ahhh......
Ran out of fuel today, oh boy
Crash landed with the six and Desmond too
They knew they had to tell a lie
Said all the others died
Now they'll never know what really happened when the plane went down
Oceanic 8----1----5...

Oh, yeah, and I remembered to say what song it was supposed to be, too.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?
I knew there was a reason it felt like it worked so well.

It's no problem, dude. I stole it from The Beatles to begin with.
I was telling TheHolyStickman that I might try to record some of the
when I have enough time to do so. I would love to use songs that other Losties have posted as well, but I won't do so without their permission. And feel free to write more. I'm constantly* having ideas for them, so the list can keep growing.

* Sorry. That was unnecessary italicization. Cheap and corny. It won't happen again...today.

Thats ok, no need to apologise
Hey we should try a joint project - as long as we use the same software it should be easy to do!

Well, the software wouldn't even matter so much as the file type that the software uses. Does yours use .wav, .mp3, or what?

Either....but what I mean is we can swap layers in the track - for example if you did a few layers and then sent them to me to add a few layers...and then maybe to someone else if they wanted to add something....other than mixing everything down before sending...it means we can fine tune it all better

Well, as long as the separate layers are still saved as such, I could even glean them and do the mixing. That way, the means of creating those layers wouldn't matter so much. Mine uses .wav files, but I have the means of easily converting files anyway.

Ah, one of my favorites. Thank you for posting it, Nino.
Well, Jax, were you thinking you wanted to collaborate on one of the parody songs, or something new and original, but Lost themed perhaps?
