Re: Debate - MSBHL V Lojozz - WINNER ANNOUNCED!!!
Wow!!!!! Absolutely fantastic job done on both sides. Lojozz almost swayed me with the time guardian reference but my vote goes to MSHL.

Re: Debate - MSBHL V Lojozz - WINNER ANNOUNCED!!!
MSHL said that Lost is not magic and I agree and therefore
my vote goes to Lojozz. I believe if it's not magic that so many people had
direct and indirect links before the crash then it must be planned. And I
think it being a plan can be explained scientifically as well. Think
Heroes! Hero goes back in time and changes the future. In Lost this
might not be quite the case but something similar could explain a plan.
Maybe people interacting with our losties have the knowledge of the
future. Maybe they know that our losties need a trigger to board the
plane. And maybe they know that island will protect them in the crash!
Remember every thing happens for a reason!

Does anyone know how long the poll goes on for?
Also Lojozz if its any consolation it was very close between you for my vote. I spent a few minutes thinking about it.

Sorry Lojozz, for the longest time I believed that there was a plan. I even wrote a theory on L-T.com about it, I even explained how the plan was executed.
I still believe that the plane was meant to crash there, but the people on board could have been anyone. It was the selected few because they were destined to be there.
You guys both presented great cases and I was intrigued, so thank you for that.

Re: Debate - MSBHL V Lojozz - WINNER ANNOUNCED!!!
I really enjoyed reading the posts on the 3rd page
But I don't know, although both sides seem to be powerful debaters , I have a problem with the debate topic, maybe I should have had my say earlier on that one..
Anyway, I am about to vote for Lojozz, just because I like some of the ideas he brings up, such as the runway being built to land the plane !
Actually MSHL has a stronger argument in my opinion, I mean, there are forces called 'Course-correctors' on the show' ! But I believe that neither was the case.
I just don't think that Ben, or any other human being, knew all those people, knew about the future and so made the plane crash. The way Ben looked at the sky as the plane went down was more like 'oh it shouldn't have happened this way! ' So he may have found out about a certain plane crashing on the island and that it would be no good for them- remember the Others' cautious approach to the survivors!- at some future info desk, or session, or travel, but he didn't plan it like the way it happened. If Widmore did it, then that makes him a course-corrector !
I vote for Lojozz because of some of the insightful ideas he came up with, although MSHL had built stronger arguments

Re: Debate - MSBHL V Lojozz - WINNER ANNOUNCED!!!
In deciding which argument I agree with the most, this is what was the most compelling reason for how I voted :Ockham's Razor
Info source: http://www.britannica.com/eb/article-9056716/Ockhams-razor
Plurality should not be posited without necessity.” The principle gives precedence to simplicity; of two competing theories, the simplest explanation of an entity is to be preferred. The principle is also expressed “Entities are not to be multiplied beyond…
This is the most simple resolution of the two sides of the argument in
deciding which is most plausible because of this simple reason:
[Shot of Claire accepting an airline ticket from Malkin.]
CLAIRE: I can't go tomorrow. I have to get my. . .
MALKIN: It has to be this flight. It can't be any other. They're already scheduled to meet you when you arrive. Flight 815. Flight 815. [Shot of Claire and Charlie in the jungle.]
CLAIRE: There was no couple in Los Angeles. He knew. He knew about the plane, what was going to happen. Oh my god, he knew.

That is why I am agreeing with argument for,and my vote goes to Lojozz.Very good arguments though on both sides.

I would like to add one more comment about this Debate !
As I just cast a vote ,I was able to see how many people had voted, and it appears to be a very low number.
Let us give a fair representation of votes for this Debate, Please

Yeah well said KSJ (about people voting) and thanks to all others who have so far voted for either side.
I'm really impressed with the level of detail given in explanation for voting, it shows that we have a healthy pot of potential debaters for the next one.

I've tried not to let my own opinion sway me and vote simply on the best arguments and my vote has to go with Lojozz.(which is neat because its the side of the argument I agree with).

OMG could we have a tie situation here????
I suggest in the event of a tie, we leave the voting for a further 24 hours. Unless someone has a suggestion for a tie-breaker?

Well I would suggest that in the event of a tie the reigning champ stays on (but then I would).I really cant believe this has got level how exciiting.
Come on everybody if you haven't voted yet do so.

Re: Debate - MSBHL V Lojozz - WINNER ANNOUNCED!!!
I think if it is a tie then I get to give free potato chips to anyone who votes for me in a tie-breaker election.
No?
Okay (and I hate typing this one)
A challenger should BEAT the champion. If it is a tie when all is said and done, the King should retain his crown.
Yup, now that I've read it I hate it even more...but I think it should be that way.
Either that or an online coin toss.

Re: Debate - MSBHL V Lojozz - WINNER ANNOUNCED!!!
Well MSHL thats a good idea but I think youre being a little harsh on yourself. What about if SunnyP hasnt voted yet and if she feels comfortable with it. Then she could cast the deciding vote.
